Carioca dining room at dusk
Hand-curated selection · Curated by Charlie

Twenty rooms we'd send our parents to.

The Rio restaurants Charlie actually books for clients — from a Michelin-starred Asian kitchen at the Copacabana Palace to a 2am galeto counter that's been open since 1962. Every reservation routes through our concierge.

How this list works

Curated by Charlie, not by an algorithm.

Every room on this page is one Charlie eats at, sends clients to, and can reach by phone. Tap Reserve via Charlie on any card — the message pre-fills, you tell us the night and the party size, and we confirm the table. Walk-ins, last-minute, special occasions, dietary requests — same channel.

Oro

Leblon · Brazilian fine dining · Tasting menu

Felipe Bronze's tasting room — eighteen courses built around live-fire technique and Brazilian product. The room is small, the kitchen is open, and the wine list is the most thoughtful in Leblon. Book the bar seats facing the grill.

Charlie — My default for clients on a celebration night — Felipe will look after you if I message ahead.

The Copacabana Palace's pool-side Italian. White linen, tableside Caesar, the kind of room where you can still hear your dinner partner. Vitello tonnato as it should be, and a tiramisu I won't apologize for ordering twice.

The bar where Tom Jobim and Vinicius wrote 'The Girl from Ipanema' in 1962. Yes, it's a tourist stop. It's also where you order the picanha for two with farofa and a cold chopp, sit at the corner table, and admit Rio has earned its songs.

Open since 1962. A narrow room, charcoal galeto on the spit, open until 5am, and a strict no-frills posture that is itself the appeal. Order the galeto, the polenta frita, and a cold Antarctica. Don't dress up — nobody else has.

Quadrucci

Leblon · Italian · Neighborhood classic

The neighborhood Italian I keep going back to. Excellent raviolo di magro, a wood oven that produces honest pizzas, and a wine-by-the-glass program that's better than it has any reason to be. The sidewalk tables are gold.

Charlie — When clients are tired and just want pasta done right. Walking distance from every Leblon rental.

Esch Café

Leblon · Cigar house · Bistro

Mahogany, brass, a glass humidor and a barman who'll bring you a sazerac that earns the room. The food is honest European-bistro — escargots, steak frites, a tarte tatin that I order without thinking. Cigars properly stored.

Charlie — After dinner, before bed. Cigar, neat pour, no rush.

Off-list requests

Not on the list? Still ask.

A private room for sixteen, a Carnaval-week table, a chef-counter seat at a place that doesn't take online bookings, a birthday cake that arrives at the right time. Send Charlie the brief — he knows the maître d's.
